MUMBAI: As the awards season starts, Viacom18?s international music channel Vh1 is gearing up to provide the best possible Grammy experience to its viewers. The channel will be airing The 2013 55th Annual Grammy Awards live on 11 February at 6.30 am and will follow it up with a prime time repeat at 9.00 pm.

The channel also has an ongoing contest by the name NESCAF? Vh1 Ticket to Ride Contest to LA since 11 January. The winners of the contest will get a chance to fly to Los Angeles where the awards are being held and watch them live. The participants have to answer a question in order to win the contest by accessing the Vh1 India microsite via the channel?s Facebook page. The winners will be announced on January 24th 2013!

The Vh1 Ticket to Ride takes place every year. In the past couple of years, Vh1 has given their fans a chance to be seated in the front row at the Golden Globes, including concerts of legendary artists like U2, Coldplay, Eminem, Ricky Martin, Pearl Jam, Celine Dion, Bruce Springsteen, Santana, Slash, and John Mayer.

This year, the Grammys will be hosted by LL Cool J and will include a tribute performance to the iconic singer Bruce Springsteen.

MUMBAI: Viacom18?s English entertainment and music channel Vh1 will air the 70th Golden Globe Awards. The event will be aired on 14 January at 6.30 am live followed by a prime time repeat telecast at 9 pm. This year?s awards will be presented by L?Oreal.

The Golden Globe Awards is an accolade bestowed by 93 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) recognizing excellence in film and television, both domestic and foreign.

The awards will be hosted by Golden Globe winner Tina Fey accompanied by Golden Globe nominee Amy Poehler ending Ricky Gervais? three year stint as the anchor at the awards show. Celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio, Nicole Kidman, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Lange and Clive Owen will be amongst those presenting at the Golden Globe Awards this year. Actor, director and producer Jodie Foster will be honoured with the Cecil B. De Mille for lifetime achievement.

MUMBAI: Russian entertainment media group Prof-Media has said it will shut MTV Russia beginning May next year citing falling viewership.

The music channel?s ratings dropped due to growing popularity of listening to music online which made it unviable to run.

MTV Russia, which began broadcasting in 1998, will be replaced by a new entertainment channel Pyatnitsa targeted at the 14-44 TG.

Prof-Media had in 2007 bought MTV Russia and VH1 Russia for about $360 million in cash from American media conglomerate Viacom.

MUMBAI: In preparation for the festive season, Viacom18?s English music channel Vh1 will be airing the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards live on 12 November at 1.30 am with a prime time repeat at 9 pm.

The main event will be preceded by a red carpet coverage which will also be aired live at 12.30 am and have a repeat telecast at 8.00 pm.

The event is being held at Festhalle in Frankfurt and will be hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum. This year?s MTV Europe Music Awards will see performances by global artists like Pitbull, Alicia Keys and the Killers. South Korean singer Psy who earned global popularity with his video ?Ganganam Style? will also be performing.

The Killers will return to the EMA stage in support of their recent Battle Born album, whereas Pitbull will debut a song from his new Global Warming album and Alicia Keys will be performing a song from her next album as well.
