Infotainment genre emerges as most benefitted in Chrome DM week 22

Sports genre grew by 0.39 per cent in all India 1 Lakh+ markets in the second position

MUMBAI: Infotainment genre has grown by 0.54 per cent in week 22 of Chrome Data Analytics and Media. In this genre, History TV18 channel gained the highest OTS with 77.9 per cent in all India 1 Lakh+ markets.

OTS is the actual census-based percentage connectivity of a channel spread across 81 million homes, as reported by Chrome DM, across analogue cable, digital cable, and DTH.

This week, there were only two gainers in the list according to the data. On the second position, sports genre grew by 0.39 per cent in all India 1 Lakh+ markets. In this genre, DD Sports gained the highest OTS with 89.1 per cent. Last week, English movies genre secured the second position in gainers list with 13.82 per cent growth. Movies Now gained the highest OTS in the genre with 32.5 per cent in 6 metro market.

During week 21, English GEC genre grew by 9.31 per cent followed by English news that grew by 7.96 per cent in 6 metro markets. In these categories, Comedy Central and Republic News garnered the highest OTS with 27.4 per cent and 97.5 per cent respectively. In the fifth position, youth genre grew by 2.83 per cent in the excluding less than 1 lakh market. In this genre, MTV channel gained the highest OTS with 81.7 per cent.
