• Pogo lines-up Chotta Bheem movies to enthrall kids during Diwali

    MUMBAI: Pogo will treat kids to best Chhota Bheem movies aired in the past year and an on-air contest called ?Dhishum Diwali? every day between 12-16 November, 12 pm onwards.

    Chhota Bheem will enthrall kids with 5 of his best movies:

    Chhota Bheem aur Hanuman, Chhota Bheem: Dholakpur to Kathmandu, Chhota Bheem & the Curse of Damyaan, Chhota Bheem: Master of Shaolin and Chhota Bheem: Mayanagri.

    These movies will be showcased on Pogo from Monday to Friday at 12 pm. The ?Dhishum Diwali? contest will give kids a chance to gather some more gifts this festive season. PS3s, iPod Nanos, Mobile Phones and exclusive Chhota Bheem gift hampers are some of the gifts up for grabs.

    To participate, kids need to tune-in to these movies and send their answers to the movie-based questions by SMS. Kids can also participate in the contest by logging on to Pogo website.

  • Pogo woos kids with three new movies during Diwali

    MUMBAI: Pogo is planning to take its engagement with kids to the next level with three new movies. For the first time ever, Pogo will premiere its first originally produced, animated television movie - Chhota Chintu Bada Phenku on 4 November at 12 pm.

    It will also premiere its first live-action, television movie - ?Bhootraja Aur Ronnie? towards November end, followed by Chatpat Jhatpat in mid December.

    The concept of Chhota Chintu Bada Phenku has been developed by Pogo and is animated by Green Gold Animation Studios. The story is about a 9-year-old boy and the extent to which he will go to make himself sound cool by avoiding his homework, escaping his mother?s wrath and creating a loveable impression amongst peers. The humour and twist in the tale begins when all his tall tales start to come true. Now Chintu must come clean and find a way to make his wrongs right.

    ?Bhootraja Aur Ronnie?, premiering towards November-end, is Pogo?s first live-action TV feature conceptualised in-house and co-produced by Fireworks, production house of the successful live-action series CID. The movie revolves around the friendship between Ronnie, an 8-year-old boy and Raja, a friendly ghost.

    On one hand Raja helps Ronnie overcome school bullies and on the other hand, Ronnie helps Raja to solve the mystery of his death. It is a story of friendship, bravery and justice.

    Chatpat Jhatpat is a story about an optimistic, naughty, confident and brazen boy - Chatpat and his doppelganger but diametrically different meek and innocent friend - Jhatpat. This second live-action original production of Pogo is created by Sphere Origins, makers of Balika Vadhu, and premieres in mid December.

  • Vivek Bahl moves to Sony Entertainment as chief creative director

    MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Television (Set) has appointed Vivek Bahl as its chief creative director. Bahl will be responsible for the overall programming of the Hindi general entertainment channel, which was operating without a programming head since Ajay Bhalwankar had left in June 2011.

    He will be reporting in to Set Sr EVP and business head Sneha Rajani.

    MSM COO NP Singh said, "Vivek?s entertainment experience and a cross-functional strategic perspective will enhance the growth of Set. On behalf of Sony Entertainment Network we look forward to a long and fruitful working association with him."

    Bahl comes with over 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry. Prior to this, Bahl had a short stint at Viacom18 as network advisor - content.

    Rajani said, "We are delighted to have Vivek Bahl on board. Vivek has great experience and knowledge of content across genres. I wish him all the success and good luck for his new assignment."

    Bahl added, "I?m delighted to join Set and hope to provide valuable programming inputs in all genres of shows. This is an exciting and challenging role and I am honored that trust has been reposed in my abilities."

    Prior to that he was with Turner International as its Chief Content Officer, overlooking the content strategy and development for Turner?s entertainment brands in India, including Imagine TV, Cartoon Network, Pogo and Warner Brothers. He has played various roles of creating, writing, programming, producing and directing entertainment content.

    Prior to Turner, he was executive creative director for Star India and he co-produced the series ?Navya? for Star Plus. He has also worked with Mahuaa Network in a consulting role to set up their new regional channels and Zee TV.

  • Charlie Chaplin's animated series to debut on Pogo in July

    MUMBAI: Kids channel Pogo is all set to reacquaint kids of Gen Y with the biggest comic hero of all time in an all new animated avatar in Chaplin & Co every Saturday at 9 am, starting 7 July.

    Based on the hilarious escapades of Charlie Chaplin, Chaplin and Co is a co-production between Hyderabad-based DQ Entertainment and France-based Method Animation, and was developed in consultation with the Chaplin family.

    Cartoon Network Asia had in 2010 acquired the TV broadcast rights of the popular animated series for certain Asian territories including India.

    The broadcasting rights relate to 104 Chaplin and Co episodes, each 6 minutes long and will be broadcast across all of Cartoon Network?s Asia Pacific markets in more than 26 countries from early 2012.

  • Pogo to air new Chhota Bheem movie on 24 June

    MUMBAI: After a run at the box office, ?Chhota Bheem and the Curse of Damyaan? is set to air on Pogo on 24 June at 12 pm.

    The new Chhota Bheem movie is based on an evil sorcerer?s aim to take over the world.

    The movie has been produced by Green Gold picture which created a niche for itself in the industry by producing Vikram Betal, Krishna series and the hugely popular Chhota Bheem.

  • Pogo to premiere Mighty Raju sequel on 10 June

    MUMBAI: Kid?s channel Pogo is coming out with a new sequel ?Mighty Raju v/s the Great Pirate? scheduled to premiere on 10 June at 12 noon.

    In this sequel, Mighty Raju is up against a group of lethal Ninjas who plan to wreck havoc in Indian cities by teaming up with Admiral Dark Wind and Mighty Raju?s old nemesis - Karaati.
