MUMBAI: Star's Radio City is all set to roll out innovative content that will be heard for the first time on FM radio during the coming World Cup cricket season.
Radio City started off the World Cup package by launching the exclusive official World Cup Cricket album on the station featuring the current favorite song Khel Na re by Vasundhara Das and Sudesh Bhosle. Listeners across Radio City stations in Mumbai, Bangalore and Lucknow will have the opportunity of winning exclusive official World Cup cricket merchandise.
In addition to regular updates, comments from experts and views of the public at large, Radio City will present a range of interesting and humorous features. The spate of music to be launched will be in the area of high energy songs that will try to capture the excitement of putting Indians support behind their team include songs by Adnan Sami, KK, Shubha Mudgal etc
The other features being planned will be across a wide range of interest areas which include a take off on Navjot Singh Sidhu's style of commenting (Sidhuisms ), a contest on South Africa as a travel destination, Radio City Cricket trivia and a commentary capsule from listeners on a crazy, unpredictable situation in cricket. Listeners will also get to call up and give their slogans, wishes to boost the morale of the Indian cricket team, which will be voiced by leading celebrities.
