NEW DELHI: DD would show the whole of the Indo Pak series. The cost is Rs 500 million.

The Supreme Court today directed the party to make available DD the signal as per the interim order given on Friday which would mean that the Ten Sports logo would also have to be shown by DD.

The court has also directed that from half hour before the match starts and half after the match ends, DD will have to air all ads which had been booked by Ten Sports and were supposed to be aired on Ten.

The next hearing of the case will be on 15 April. DD also has to deposit Rs 400 million over the next seven days as a guarantee. This would mean that the total outflow from DD would be Rs 500 million.

Prasar Bharati CEO K S Sarma's initial reaction was, "It is a good observation by the court."

However certain industry observers say that the SC observation in a way was a slap on DD's face that it was trying to show the matches in public interest.

Meanwhile the cable fraternity is overjoyed at the development. A cable operator said, "Now is the time to properly take on Ten Sports."
