MUMBAI: Animal Planet set to premiere programme Animal Icons: Star Wars Creatures.

The channel will unveil fascinating stories behind the creatures of Star Wars films. Animal Icons: Star Wars Creatures will air on 13 June at 10 pm.

Where did the idea for Jabba the Hutt originate? Did you know the character of Chewbacca was inspired by film creator George Lucas family dog? From Ewoks to Wookees to Boga, Star Wars movies have starred some of the worlds most memorable fantasy creatures - aliens so vivid, they almost seem real.

The only actor to star in all six Star Wars, C-3PO or Anthony Daniels, is the narrator of the programme.

The show unveils how these fantasy creatures got their origin from actual animals found on earth. The programme also features interviews with the films actors, animators and creature designers, including George Lucas, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher.
