Turner's Anshuman Misra to also manage SE Asia

MUMBAI: Turner India managing director Anshuman Misra is all set to take on additional responsibilities to manage Turner's distribution and content sales in South East Asia. While he will continue to serve as managing director for Turner India, he will also assume the title of senior vice president, network distribution, Southeast Asia.

This was announced today by Steve Marcopoto, who is the president and managing director of Turner Broadcasting System, Asia Pacific. "Anshuman's extensive knowledge of the local and international broadcast industry, and his successful track record in overseeing Turner businesses in South Asia and managing key corporate relationships in India make him the ideal choice to take on the dual responsibilities of handling the Southeast Asian and South Asian territories," said Marcopoto.
In this newly created position, Anshuman will be responsible for overseeing the development and expansion of network distribution, as well as manage interactive and wireless content sales activities for Turner's stable of brands including CNN International, CNN Mobile, Cartoon Network and TCM in Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and other markets in the region.
At Turner India, Anshuman will continue to oversee the distribution, marketing and advertising sales of CNN South Asia and Cartoon Network in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan, including the new channel for kids and their families - Pogo. He will continue to be on the board of directors of Zee-Turner.
Anshuman joined Turner Broadcasting System in Atlanta in the company's licensing and merchandising division, Turner Home Entertainment (THE), and in 1994, he moved to New Delhi to establish Turner Home Entertainment in India.

As managing director of Turner India, Anshuman has managed the successful encryption of Cartoon Network/ TCM, and was responsible for the successful launch of HBO and the CNN South Asia feed. Anshuman also played a pivotal role in modeling Turner's key partnership with Zee and the formation of the distribution joint venture company, Zee-Turner.

Previously, Anshuman has held the position of general manager, BBC World India where he managed distribution and sales.
