MTV Asia Awards to be hosted by Vanness Wu

MUMBAI: It is surely going to be hot this Valentine's Day at Singapore Indoor Stadium. Reason, the 2004 MTV Asia Awards are being hosted there by Taiwan superstar band F4's Vanness Wu alongside internationally renowned Michelle Branch.

The award ceremony boasts of attendence from several Asian artiste include Han Hong and Sun Nan (China), Iwan Fals, Mocca and Audy (Indonesia), BoA (Korea), Too Phat, Siti Sarah, Misha Omar and Siti Nurhaliza (Malaysia), Rivermaya (Philippines), Tanya Chua (Singapore), Armchair, Blackhead, "Bird" Thongchai McIntyre, Boyd Kosiyabong, Parn-Thanaporn and Tata Young (Thailand). 

The acts for the event include 5566, Black Eyed Peas, Blue, Gareth Gates, Liberty X, Simple Plan and Stacie Orrico, says a company release.

MTV has extended the voting period to allow viewers in Asia more time to cast their votes for their favourite artists in various categories. Viewers can cast their votes till 31 January 2004 through various channels including voting on the MTV Asia Awards website, sending sms or via mail to a PO Box address. In India, Indonesia and Thailand, viewers can also pick up a MTV Asia Awards postcard and mail back to Singapore for vote collation, says the release.

International and local brands like HP, Philips and Toyota Motor Corporation are the official partner sponsors, while Club Med is on board as the associate sponsor for the Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand markets.

McDonald's and Mentari are local sponsors in Indonesia, Wall's Cornetto in Malaysia, Addict Mobile and SMG Play as local sponsors in the Philippines and StarHub is a local sponsor in Singapore.

Singapore Tourism Board (STB), which has been MTV Asia Awards since the augural event in 2002, will continue to support the award show.
