MUMBAI: Leading chipmaker Intel Corp has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Shanghai Media Group to work together in the area of digital home programming, the Beijing Times reported.

Shanghai Media Group is China's first officially licensed operator of Internet protocol television (IPTV) services.

According to the news report, Intel and Shanghai Media will develop solutions for the production of media content transmitted over broadband to different platforms, including televisions, computers and mobile phones.

Shanghai Media Group, winner of China's first IPTV license, is also in talks to form a joint venture with international documentary channel operator Discovery Communications as per state media reports.
