Court to reconvene in afternoon on ESS-Zee case

MUMBAI: The Bombay High Court will reconvene at 2:45 pm this afternoon for arguments on the India cricket rights case.

Fears that the case would have to be adjourned to next week were belied after a high profile case involving Tata Power, which would have taken up most of the afternoon, was adjourned this morning.

In the event that no verdict is pronounced after this afternoon's hearing might hold the hearing on either 21 or 22 September (Tuesday or Wednesday). These were the dates the court suggested when it was initially feared that there would be no arguments possible today.

As had been reported yesterday by Indiantelevision.com, the High Court has asked the Indian cricket board to maintain "status quo" and make a firm commitment that it would not award the contract for telecast rights to any third party until it decides on the ongoing legal dispute.
