BBC's new complaints procedure goes live

MUMBAI: An emphasis on greater transparency, objectivity and accountability underpins the BBC's new procedure for handling editorial complaints across its channels in the UK. This procedure has gone live.

The streamlined procedure is designed to make it easier for the British public to make a complaint and obtain, where appropriate, a speedy correction.

A new code of practice has been published on the site bbc.co.uk/complaints. The aim is to ensure that the public is aware of what to expect when they make a complaint.

The website will report on the volume and range of complaints it recieves. Where it is relevant the BBC will issue responses and details of clarifications, corrections as well as remedial actions being take
