Nick goes Hindi from 1 January, 2006

MUMBAI: Keeping with its localisation initiatives to broaden its audience appeal, Nick is now going Hindi from 1 January, 2006.

The Hindi feed Nick will be made available in the Hindi speaking markets. However, for audiences in the non-Hindi speaking markets, the channel will continue to be delivered in English.

On 1 January, the channel will take its Indianisation efforts a few steps further by launching a new season of the gameshow Dum Duma Dum.

This follows the extension of the popular GAS (Games & Sports) block to one-and-a-half hours daily. Also, as was already reported by Indiantelevision.com, J Bole Toh Jaado will now be aired every day at 6 pm. These changes are in line with a comprehensive change to Nick's programming line-up bolstering its kids' prime time offering.

"We're in the middle of implementing a multi-pronged strategy to push growth, driven by some innovative flagship events, grid restructuring and a new team on board among other things. The launch of a 24-hours Hindi service marks the beginning of a really aggressive programming lineup for 2006," said Nick India vice president and general manager Hema Govindan.
