Disney Channel launches nationwide hunt for ‘My Little Princess’

MUMBAI: The Disney Channel and Doy Princess are all set to swish an enchanted wand and weave magic in the lives of girls across India through their 'My Little Princess' talent hunt.

Disney and Doy are offering kids a reason to get those magic crayons out and draw their very own imaginary Princess and send in to Disney Channel to participate in this unique contest all through August.

Five best drawings along with correct entries to a question will see the five semi-finalists featured on a special vignette on Disney Channel where the little girls would give out their grooming tips. One lucky girl will be crowned ‘My Little Princess’ and will stand a chance to meet a "real" Disney Princess.

Girls can tune in to the Disney Princess block on Disney Channel from 10 am and 11 am on Saturdays and Sundays. The top entries received till 15 September will showcase Princess hopefuls in a collage with their drawings. This will be followed by top five semi finalists starring on Disney Channel talking about their royal journey and share grooming tips befitting a Princess. The top 25 entries will win Princess Tiaras and a gift hamper from Doy Princess soap.

October will see the chosen Princess crowned as the Doy Princess on Disney Channel. She will receive a special toy Princess and have the unique opportunity of becoming a star as her dream gets captured on air.

Walt Disney Television International (India) marketing and communications director Tushar Shah said, "My Little Princess contest is in line with the off-air programming experiences we create to encourage active involvement of our young audiences. With the Princess Hour block on Disney Channel, we are reaching out to the girl child who has very little television content that has been specially produced for her. We are achieving this by combining the very best of Disney’s global assets with aggressive localisation efforts.”

VVF Ltd vice president (personal care) Piyush Jindal said, "Doy Princess soap is a unique offering for the girl child. Ensuring proper care of her little girl’s skin is of foremost importance to the mother; and that’s where Doy Princess soap steps in to play its part. Benefits of olive oil coupled with unique and novel shapes of Doy Princess Soap offer best of both worlds to the mother and her little Princess."

The top 150 entries also stand to win Disney Princess dolls from Funskool, which is the sole licensee of the Disney Princess dolls and accessories in India.
