Roger Ailes appointed as Fox Television Stations chairman

MUMBAI: Fox News Channel chairman Roger Ailes has been appointed to the additional position of chairman of Fox Television Stations, which includes Twentieth Television, producer of first-run syndicated programming and distributor of off-network programming.

Murdoch's son Lachlan had earlier been responsible for overseeing the Fox Television Stations Group till he resigned as News Corp deputy CEO.

Fox Television Stations CEO Jack Abernethy will report to Ailes, who will in turn report to News Corporations chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch, and the companys president and chief operating officer Peter Chernin.

News Corporation had total assets as of 30 June, 2005 of approximately $55 billion and total annual revenues of approximately $24 billion.
