MTV to show its first TV film "Transit" on Aids

MUMBAI: MTV Networks will kick off its global Aids campaign with its first-ever made-for-TV movie.

The movie Transit will be shown across all its channels worldwide -- for a potential audience of one billion viewers -- on World Aids Day, 1 December 2005.

Shot in four locations, Transit explores themes of emotions and sexuality among young people in St Petersburg, Mexico, Los Angeles and Nairobi. MTV is also offering the film to all broadcasters worldwide without any rights fee media reports indicate.

The channel says that this is not some dry, pedantic special. The fast-paced movie uses fiction to deliver HIV/Aids prevention messages to young people. The film explores the themes of emotion and sexuality in a candid and compelling manner to engage young people and encourage them to practice safer sex.
