MUMBAI: The tempo of making films in the three dimension format seems to be warming up with producer Sunil Bohra announcing that he is all set to make his fourth edition of The Thief Of Baghdad in 3D.

Confirming the same Bohra said in a statement, "Yes I am making The Thief of Bhagdad in 3D, for the simple reason that since we have made three versions of the film earlier, the fourth has to be different. The script is ready but we needed to have something different for the film and hence the 3D format.

It is almost certain that Bohra will cast Shahid Kapoor in the lead role. "It‘s really too early to say anything about this, in fact we haven‘t even thought of that yet. To be frank, we are still contemplating on locking on a director and will lock that in the next couple of weeks, after which we will think of the cast," Bohra quips. "Once we have finished with the cast and crew detailing, we are looking at starting the film early next year," he adds.

The Thief Of Baghdad has been made thrice under the Bihra banner. The first version that was produced by Sunil‘s grandfather Sreeram starred Mahipal in the lead. Dara Singh played the lead in the 1968 version while Shatrughan Sinha played the role in the 1978 version.
