• Sony Entertainment Network inks VoD agreement with Splendid Film

    MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Network, USA, has concluded a VoD agreement with Splendid Film, a subsidiary of Splendid Medien.

    The licensing deal will allow Sony Entertainment Network?s VoD platform to show classic films such as Traffic and Gangs of New York, as well as more recent films including The Expendables and SeeFood from Splendid?s film catalogue.

    Sony Entertainment Network customers can watch and download the Splendid titles individually at any time. The video-on-demand range can be accessed using various devices including PSP (PlayStation Portable), Bravia, Xperia mobile, Sony Tablet, PlayStation 3 or PC.

    Enteractive, another subsidiary of Splendid Medien, is handling technical provision of the titles for the VoD platform.

    ?Marketing of programmes via internet platforms is becoming increasingly significant. In the Sony Entertainment Network, we have gained another very important partner for broadcasting our programmes," commented Splendid Medien CEO Andreas R. Klein.

    MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Network?s EVP and management committee member Anjani Kumar has quit.

    After being with the company for long nine years, he is moving to launch his new venture SuccessWRKSTM, which is an HR solution company.

    Sony Entertainment Network CEO Man Jit Singh said, "In his nine years of association with Sony, Anjani has contributed immensely to the growth of the company. While his movement is a loss for all of us, we support him fully in his endeavour to set up an end-to-end HR solutions company. "

    Kumar added, "It was always my dream to start my own venture and through SuccessWRKSTM I am giving shape to my dreams. SuccessWRKSTM will be a professionally managed organisation and will provide solutions in all the areas that connect to Human Resources. Whether it is Learning, Search, Staffing, HR Advisory or HR Outsourcing, we will offer solutions in every space. The plan is to build a company that will establish leadership in the HR Solutions space within next 2-3 years by having a pan India and selective international presence."

    Kumar has around 17 years of experience in the HR domain. He has worked with companies like GE, Sony, ICI and Mattel.

  • Tony Lit is Sony Entertainment European biz head

    MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) has appointed Tony Lit as VP business head for Europe. He will be overseeing the UK and European operations for its three flagship channels, Set Asia, Max and Sab.

    Lit, former managing director of Sunrise Radio, was responsible for many integral achievements for Litt Corporation, the family business. One of Lit‘s major responsibilities was overseeing the Litt Corporation Asian Radio business.

    Lit will be reporting to SEN EVP and Head of international business Neeraj Arora. He will be responsible for the revenue streams in the territory.

    Arora commented, "I am delighted with the appointment of Tony Lit as the European Business Head for Sony Entertainment Network. Tony‘s previous experience broadens our strategic depth within the sales and distribution functions as he brings a wealth of skills and knowledge that will enable us to source new opportunities in the television market. Tony‘s previous contribution to the broadcast industry will make him ideally suited to drive the progression of SEN‘s future strategy."

    Lit added, "SEN is a powerful, global brand with a great range of channels for the audiences. It is the home of one of the most respected international television channels in the world and it will be exciting to help bring it to the deserved position as the preferred choice in Asian households. I had 13 fantastic years at the Litt Corp and now look forward to my new role and challenges that lay ahead which includes working with the entire team at SEN and creating greater value for our current and new audiences and clients."

    Lit will assume the charge in January 2012.
