MUMBAI: Video streaming platform Hotstar has come up with a new app logo and splash screen. It’s a measure of increasing competition in the OTT space. The new logo looks much simpler than the earlier one. It has taken a blue-ish theme, the colour of Disney, departing from the black and green one.
Hotstar seems to be preparing for the launch of Disney+ in the Indian market. It is expected to launch its video streaming service from 28 March, when season 13 of the Indian Premier League will be kicked off on the Star India Network as well as Hotstar. The app also has some new features such as a kids mode.
Launched in 2015, Hotstar’s mobile app has garnered more than 400 million downloads, making it one of the most in-demand apps in India.
