MUMBAI: The goings on in the white House courtesy The West Wing have captivated the global audience. In India the show is enjoying a run on Zee English on Friday nights. Now the brain behind the show, Aaron Sorkin, will step down as executive producer of the series this month at the end of the show's fourth season.
In the US, the show airs on NBC. Along with Sorkin, fellow executive producer Thomas Schlamme, who directed the series pilot and other episodes will also depart. A Reuters report states that he also worked as a director on programmes like Ally McBeal and The Practice, both of which air in India on Star World.
The third executive producer, John Wells, whose company co-produces The West Wing with Warner Bros. Television will fill Sorkin's shoes as the chief creative force behind the show.
