The countdown to Oscar night is well and truly on and Star Movies has two aces up its sleeve. The big one of course is the 74th Annual Academy Awards live and exclusive on Star Movies, Monday, 25 March, 6:30 am, & 9:30 pm.

As a build-up to the awards ceremony, Star Movies is bringing Oscar Fever, a slot featuring Hollywood blockbusters and classics which have struck the right chord at the Oscars in the past. Catch these Oscar winning or nominated movies daily from 1-24 March in the late prime time slot (post 11:30 p.m) - that's 24 Oscar blockbusters in March!

Fans from over 100 countries will be tuning in to make Hollywood's biggest night the most-watched awards show on the planet, an official release says.

Interest in the Oscars has always been high and speculation over this years' contenders has that added something because India's very own Lagaan has been nominated in the Best Foreign Film category.

The live broadcast of the Oscars on 25 March, will be preceded by a 30-minute procession of the stars as they walk down the famous red carpet.

Presenting the awards for the third time is Whoopi Goldberg. To give away this years awards, among others, are last years Best Actor Russel Crowe and Best Actress Julia Roberts.
