Toonz Animation chairman Menon passes away

MUMBAI: The US-based Malayalee entrepreneur and chairman of US Software and Toonz Animation at Technopark, G.A.Menon died of a heart attack yesterday.
The incident happened on a Los Angeles-bound flight from Singapore.
A report in Keralanext states that the 72 year old man has left behind wife Yamuna and son Raju, who is a chip designer in Silicon Valley.
Menon started his career as a systems manager with IBM and joined the Chandaria Group in the late 1960s in Singapore. Menon's companies in God's own country Kerala employ around 2,000 persons with an entry-level salary of Rs 13,000. He served as the chairman of several companies under Chandaria Group of companies spread over Singapore, Bangkok, China and the US with a turnover of US $ 5 billion.
The Chandaria Group is one of the biggest electronics component suppliers to the electronics industry across the world. Menon was also the chairman of 10 companies, including Venture Manufacturing Singapore, US Technology Resources. The report adds that recently Menon was concentrating on creating a group of technology companies based in India.
