MUMBAI: The second flight of the Geo-stationary Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV)-D2 is scheduled for February 2003, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman Dr K Kasturirangan has been quoted as saying.

The GSLV-D2 will be carrying the GSAT-2 experimental satellite with 4-channel C-band Fixed Satellite Service (FSS) transponder, two channel KU-Band FSS transponder, and mobile satellite service transponder, the Press Trust of India has reported.

GSAT-2 will also carry instrument to conduct experiments like total radiation dose monitor, surface charge potential monitor, coherent radio beacon experiment and solar X-ray spectro meter.
