CNN wins journalism awards in the US

MUMBAI: News broadcaster CNN in the US has garnered 10 major journalism awards from the Foundation of American Women in Radio and Television and the Press Club of Atlantic City. So far this year CNN has earned 25 major honours for its journalism, including an Oscar nomination for the short subject documentary Autism Is a World.

The show Paula Zahn Now won in the Interview-Hard News category for Inside Osama’s World: Carmen Bin Ladin Speaks Out. This was a rare interview with the sister of Osama bin Laden. CNN Presents won in the Documentary category for The Two Marys: The Madonna and the Magdalene. NewsNight earned a Gracie Awardin the Sports category for Game Face. The special dealt with a travelling photo exhibit showing the games faces of women playing sports in formal and informal competition.
