MUMBAI: CNBC-TV18 has rolled out a four part feature series called Awakening Giants that will look at the emerging new world economies like China, India, Russia and Brazil, which will help shape the future of the global economy.

The series began its first weekly telecast on CNBC-TV18 on 2 October at 6 pm. Awakening Giants will introduce Indian audiences to the people and companies that influence change in the four growing economies, through in-depth interviews with tycoons, entrepreneurs, key decision makers and opinion leaders. Each episode will address pressing issues on how business executives in these emerging countries manage economic growth and the effort put in by them to find their place in the world economy. The show will also assess the opportunities and risks investors face as well as what companies do to balance economic growth with the needs of workers, informed an official release.
The first episode of Awakening Giants focused on the superpower Russia. The show centered around adjustments made by state-owned-enterprises towards capitalism. The episodes also focused on how new entrepreneurs have adjusted to the currency crash of 1998 as well as the governments policy enforced to steer the country toward stability.
India and its huge market with staggering potential will feature in the second episode on 9 October. The episode will focus on the domination of Indian companies in the IT and ITES sectors. The episode will also look into the huge Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) pool, its blistering growth over the past two years and how the new Indian government will improve opportunities and tackle challenges for the millions of poor across the country, added the release.
Similarly, the third and fourth episode scheduled for 16 and 23 October, will focus on two of the successful economies in the world, China and Brazil.
