'Idol' aspirant Turner voted out

Idol

MUMBAI: On the latest episode of Fox's reality show American Idol in the US a few days ago the remaining eight contestants performed songs from the year they were born.

Over 34 million votes were cast as America made its decision on who should remain in the competition. The journey ended for Nadia Turner after she received the fewest votes.

Turner was voted off the show after singing Crystal Gayle's When I Dream a choice that the judges lambasted. A brutally frank Simon Cowell said, "It was an appalling choice of song and I think you could go home after that. It is the musical equivalent of wallpaper." Turner said, "It's a song about dreaming and I've always been a dreamer."

The host Ryan Seacrest announced that a single sung by the top 12 contestants had been chosen. When You Tell Me that You Love Me will be released on 19 April. Benefits will go to the American Red Cross.
