ETC Networks celebrates sixth anniversary on 26 August

MUMBAI: On 26 August 2005, ETC completes six successful years in entertainment industry. To enjoy its success ETC had a special alliance with latest release No Entry.

What started off as a music channel with a handful of enthusiastic entrepreneurs, has grown into a formidable exhibition of Bollywood and popular music with every producer and music creator vying for space on ETC, said an official release.

At the premier of the film No Entry in Fun Republic tonight (25 August), a huge cake will be brought in with ETC and No Entry inscribed on it. The entire team of No Entry along with Zee Telefilms chairman Subhash Chandra, ETC director finance Vikas Gupta, ETC Networks Ltd MD Rajiv Garg, Ravindran Acharya and Manjeet Singh Raina from ETC will blow the candles and cut the cake.

According to the release, ETC has come out stronger through all the tumults and upheavals in this industry and inspite of a few shakeups and tremors, the channel has stood strong and tall.

ETC CEO Jagjit Singh Kohli says, "I am very happy that ETC is growing by leaps and bounds and today it is the defacto platform for the film industry. The past six years have witnessed a very healthy and positive relationship between ETC and film industry. I am sure it would continue growing and it will continue in its successful endeavor of bridging the gap between the people and the industry."

Gupta says, "Close alliance with No Entry is indeed a happy moment for us because ETC has always taken pride on it's association with the film industry. ETC has promoted and grown on staple diet of films and music while providing the viewers with their favorite filmy entertainment. We will continue to do so in future also."

Garg, on the other hand said, "ETC has shown an exceptional sincerity and healthy growth in the music genre. Its association with the film industry and music is by birth and is very deep rooted. It is our endeavor to maintain the same in the coming years also."

As the clock will strike 12 on the eve of 26 August, ETC birthday bash will move into top gear to celebrate its success and birthday with the who's who of entertainment and advertisement industry.

The media release adds that ETC is the channel that took birth to take Hindi films and music into the homes of the viewers. ETC is the channel that left so called English music on the side and has unashamedly associated with Hindi films to provide the best platform to age old entertainment called Bollywood. ETC is the channel that has created the successful programming mix of 100 per cent Bollywood masaala stating - 'Aakhir Dil Hai Hindustani'.

With a 360 degree approach to programming ETC today has a wide range of shows, platforms, interactive shows, compilations, premieres, events that make a complete promotion package for new releases in both the film factories and music industries.

New show that began in this past one year like Bada Parda, Unscene, ETC Nautanki Top 9, Tarana, Top Gear, Rolling and Chalte Chalte have become hot property on ETC.

The channel also initiated events such as Sajda, Sufi Rock with Mekaal Hasan, Baisakhi Blast 2005 and series of Naach Meri Jaan to name a few.
