Cartoon Network gets He-Man on board

MUMBAI: Guess what, old is gold!
The 80's famous cartoon - He-man and the Masters of the Universe, which had children making appointment viewing, will returns to India on Cartoon network. Premiering on 6 September 2003, the battle between good and evil will now ensue both in Hindi and English, every Saturday and Sunday at 4 pm.

A Mattel Toys presentation, the all-new action packed series of He-man features new villains and better animation to get the new age kids tune in, says a Mattel release. Produced using the Japanese animation form 'anime', the new and improved He-man ... boasts of racy storylines with a far more realistic look and significantly enhanced characterisations across the board.
Based on the good old formula of good versus, the new series revolves around the heroic struggles of He-man and his friends as they defend the mythical castle Grayskull and the planet Eternia from the evil forces of Skeletor and his henchmen. In addition to old favorites Man-at-Arms, Teela, Orko and the Sorceress, the series also introduces new characters, both heroic warriors and evil enemies.

In a unique promotional campaign, Mattel Toys India will launch an entirely new range of Masters of the Universe toys to coincide with the premier of He-man and the Masters of the Universe on Cartoon Network. So while the action figurines garner attention at the malls, the kids will be interested to watch the battle between good and evil enacted on the reel, thus attracting eye balls. Ranging from action figures to vehicles and playsets, the Masters of the Universe range of toys will be available in the leading toy stores across the country.
According to the Mattel Toys Indian Ltd, vice president marketing Nanette D'Sa: "He-man is certainly one of the most celebrated action figure lines in toy history, and I am sure the new look animated series on Cartoon Network as well as our product line will create a wave in India, like it had done in the 80s."
Says Cartoon Network India's executive director - strategic marketing, Nikhil Mirchandani: "Cartoon Network has always endeavoured to showcase the best animated products, available locally and internationally. We are delighted to premier He-man and the Masters of the Universe, an old favourite with a new enhanced look and story line. We are positive that the latest adventures of He-man and his mates will, once again, capture the imagination of young toonheads, as it did decades ago."
