Channel7 names Ajit Sahi in place of Arup Ghosh

MUMBAI: Finally, an official announcement has been made at Channel7. The news channel from the Jagran group has named Ajit Sahi as the executive editor, which means that he will be the editorial head.

Contacted by Indiantelevision.com, Jagran TV director Siddharth Gupta confirmed the move and added that Sahi has been promoted from the level of executive producer to the position of executive editor of the channel.

Print journalist Ajit Sahi has been assoicated with Jargan TV for last one and a half year. He has also worked with Star News and the now defunct Buisness India TV where he worked as a senior producer.

Sahi has worked under political analyst and mediaperson Vinod Dua and TV 18 promoter Raghav Bhal, who was then the executive director of Business India Television.

Quizzed on his plans, Sahi said, "Content is like fashion. We have to keep up with the `fast forward' world of television even while continuously adapting to programming format changes."

The head of the news channel has been lying vacant after Arup Ghosh quits to the news channel in the month of early May
