Swami Vivekananda

MUMBAI: For the first time in India, a realistic model of Swami Vivekananda in full Stereoscopic 3D format has been attempted by Ramakrishna Math, Chennai in partnership with GISR (Global Institute for Stereo Vision and Research) located in the city.

Clips of a stereoscopic 3D short film on Vivekananda and his message to the youth was recently launched at the Vivekananda House at Chennai that has a cultural heritage museum.

The first clip ( to be viewed with 3D glasses) is the Swami’s address to the youth, titled "My Message to the Youth", of 6 minutes duration, created using realistic 3D modeling.

Earlier, Hollywood studios have attempted realistic 3D models of humans in a handful of films like Tom Hanks’ in Polar Express and Anthony Hopkins’ Beowulf. But for this project, it‘s much more complex since photographic references are only available.
