• Big CBS Prime aims to strengthen weekend programming with crime-based property

    MUMBAI: Big CBS Prime, an English male-targeted entertainment channel, is eyeing to strengthen it weekend programming with the launch of a special weekend property ?Maha Crime Sunday?.

    Starting 21 April, the seven week special will air every Sunday from 8.30 pm-10.30 pm.

    The channel, available in dual feeds of English and Hindi, will treat audiences to crime based shows selected from the key programming like 48 Hours: Mystery and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. ?Maha Crime Sunday? has been designed to suit the entertainment penchants of the male audiences in India.

    Big CBS Networks business head Anand Chakravarthy said, "This special, is backed with the understanding that audiences seek gripping stories which are well delivered, and wish to move away from story lines and programming which are served to them frivolously and more flippantly. With this offering we handpick episodes, by theme, from two of our key shows CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and 48 Hours: Mystery to highlight social evils.     With films and television sharing a symbiotic relationship, ?Maha Crime Sunday? will see its first episode have actor Emraan Hashmi coming on board to reach out to its ?male audience for the promotion of his film Ek Thi Daayan. Ensuring mass appeal, each of the shows will be peppered with Indian content as Bollywood and celebrities takes on the shows to promote their films, where synergies exist.

    The property will see the spot-light on a special cause. These will range from cyber crimes to crime against women to domestic violence to sexual abuse and violence.

    Big CBS Prime will carry out extensive promotional activities for this fresh new property Maha Sunday Crime to increase its viewership. There will be wide on-air promotions and space in the advertising mediums including TV, Radio and digital.

    MUMBAI: Big CBS Love?s brand new fiction drama ?Under the Dome? will have a concurrent telecast in India with its premiere and telecast in US.

    Based on a novel of the same name by award-winning author Stephen King and directed by Stephen Spielberg, Under The Dome will mark the first time ever that American fiction drama will be aired in India concurrent with its US telecast.

    The show is part of the English general entertainment channel?s programming line-up for this quarter, which it will be kicking off with the launch of ?Britain?s Next Top Model? that is slated to premiere on 15 April. It will air Monday to Thursday at 9 pm.

    It will also air the drama series ?Summerland? that brings together Lori Loughlin and Jesse McCartney. The quarter will also witness the launch of light-hearted British drama ?Secret Diary? tracing the life of Hannah Baxter portrayed by Billie Piper.

    MUMBAI: Reliance Broadcast Network Limited (RBNL) and CBS?s joint venture English GEC BIG CBS LOVE will be showcasing the television drama ?Beauty and the Beast?. The show which won the 2013 People?s Choice Award for Favorite New TV Drama will premiere on Indian television on 25 March exclusively on BIG CBS LOVE.

    The series has been a critically-acclaimed and well received in America. The show features television actors Kristen Kreuk, Jay Ryan, Max Brown, Nicole Gale Anderson, Rob Stewart, and Sendhil Ramamurthy.

    Mumbai: Big CBS Love has acquired exclusive rights to air the second season of legal drama ?The Good Wife?.

    The show features Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi along with actors Chris Noth and Will Gardner in key roles.

    The show is slated to go on air on 11 February and will be telecast every Monday to Thursday at 10 pm.

    The Good Wife Season 2 is a show which traces the life of Alicia Florrick (Margulies), a housewife and mother of two, who must rebuild her career as a litigator after her husband Peter Florrick (Noth) is sent to jail following a very public corruption and infidelity scandal.
