  • Hemisphere Capital raises $100 mn in fresh funding round

    MUMBAI: Hemisphere Capital Management, the tentpole fund behind "Men in Black III" ?Smurfs" and "TinTin", has raised $100 million from a group of banks led by J.P. Morgan Chase?s Entertainment Group in a fresh round of funding.

    This is part of a $400 million fund the financier announced in 2010. J.P. Morgan is Hemisphere?s debt financing partner.

    Based in Calgar, Hemisphere Capital Management is an independent, employee owned investment management firm.

    "The Fund will target those properties that have greater future sequel potential, so that a successful investment will yield multiple investment opportunities," Hemisphere stated in a confidential investor presentation earlier this month.

    MUMBAI: Discovery network?s travel and lifestyle channel, TLC, is bringing back Hairy Bikers: Mum Knows Best!

    Starting 23 May, the second season of the show will air every Wednesday at 8 pm.

    The show follows ?star mums? as they share their family recipes and also give the ?Hairy Bikers? a taste of the same. Standing at the heart of each episode is the Mums Know Best Recipe Fair, where the Hairy Bikers do a live cookery demonstration and visitors bring their own family recipes to share with each other.

    "The series celebrates the best of British family recipes, many of which have been passed down from one generation to the other. These dishes represent the best of home cooking from the kitchens of Britain?s mothers. These recipes are also a precious insight into the way people have been cooking in Britain for centuries," says TLC.

  • MTV to launch Coke Studio@MTV Season 2 in July

    Mumbai: MTV is launching the second season of its popular singing show Coke Studio@MTV in July.

    In this season, the focus will be to showcase diversity and innovation through eight episodes, 12 producers and over 200 musicians.

    As per the channel, the first season of CokeStudio@MTV had over 40 million viewers on MTV, seven lakh fans on Facebook, two million views on YouTube, 13,000 CDs and 15 live shows.

    The first season of Coke Studio exemplified the melodious symphony of diverse genres of music ranging from famous Bollywood rhythms, traditional tunes and modern western to folk.

Integrated marketing communications Wasim Basir, ?Season 2 promises to further amplify this magical experience for the music lovers by dwelling on ?pure? innovation to offer a musical concoction never heard before.     Coke Studio@MTV Season 2 will see musicians from varied genres come together and collaborate to create original music.

    The property will see independent, classical, folk EDM and popular artists combine their creative energies in a live performance. Every composition has been created exclusively for this project by experimental producers.
