CgA World expo '04 kicks off on an optimistic note

MUMBAI: "The 2004 expo and conference is a reality check in the classic sense. The dream sequence of the global marketplace converging at Computer graphics and Animation (CgA) is for the futurescape" these were the words with which Anil Chopra, CEO, Studio Systems welcomed the delegates to the inauguration ceremony of CgA world 2004 at Mumbai's Nehru centre today.

With 22 exhibitors including the likes of technology majors like Apple and Discreet, Industry organisations like TASI and ASIFA India, studios and Digital Content Creators like Tata ELXSI, TOONZ Animation India and Netguru, the event looks promising.

The Keynote speech was delivered by Indian Animation veteran Mr Ram Mohan, wherein he stressed on Animation being an industry driven by human talent. It was followed by a talk by DR B Ravi associate professor at the IIT Mumbai. Dr Ravi spoke on the growth potential of the Indian CAD and CAM industries.

The exhibitors are optimistic about the event. On being asked about the reponse one of the exhibitors Sudhakar Gupta, representative for Netguru Digital media, Kolkata said that "The visitors are not yet streaming in as anticipated earlier yet the reponse can be termed as encouraging, besides the exhibition has just got under way and we hope to get a full house tomorrow"
