CBS unveils identities of couples competing in `The Amazing Race 3'

New York: US network CBS has announced the identities of the 12 couples set to compete in The Amazing Race 3. The third installment of the critically acclaimed series will premiere 2 October (9-10 pm, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

As with the other two installments each couple is related in different manners. They have to go on a trek around the world for approximately 30 days. At each destination they will ompete in a series phy7ical and mental challenges. Couples who are farthest behind will gradually be eliminated as the contest progresses, with the first team to arrive at the final destination winning $ one million. In India the show will air at a later date on action oriented channel AXN.

The teams include siblings Tramel and Gary Raggs. Heather Mahar and Eve Madison are law school roommates while Derek and Drew Riker are identical twin brothers.

Jerry Bruckheimer and Bertram van Munster (who co-created the series along with Elise Doganieri) are the executive producers for Bruckheimer Films and Earthview Inc. in association with Touchstone Television and Amazing Race Productions.
