'Tinseltown TV' claims top spot on Iranian TV charts

MUMBAI: Tinseltown TV -- the one-hour entertainment show featuring top Hollywood stars, has topped the charts on National Iranian Television (NITV) network.
The show, produced by London-based entrepreneur Sheeraz Hasan's Tinseltown Entertainment, began airing in January 2003. It claims to be the first and only programme on Iranian Television to bring exclusive behind-the-scenes coverage of Hollywood to the global Iranian community in Iran, UK, Europe, US, Canada, and Australia.
In fact, spurred by its recent success, Tinseltown plans to reach other markets as well and according to a company release, India may see the show by the end of this year.
The show claims to have unparalleled access to the biggest names in Hollywood, including Tom Cruise, Jennifer Lopez, Steven Spielberg, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Leonardo Di Caprio, Tom Hanks, Celine Dion, Micheal Eisner, Beyonce, Cuba Gooding Jr, Stan Lee, Samuel L Jackson, Harrison Ford, Janet Jackson, Sharon Stone, Christian Slater, Snoop Dogg, Will Smith, Chris Tucker and Ridley Scott.
The programme airs behind-the-scenes footage of film premieres, award ceremonies, celebrity parties, charity events, and fashion shows.
Tinseltown TV claims to reach some 500 million viewers worldwide and is the brainchild of the 28-year-old Hasan. "Tinseltown TV has become Hollywood's voice to the global Iranian community," Hasan is quoted as saying in the release.
