Nimbus invests Rs 248 million in all-purpose infrastructure facility

MUMBAI: Nimbus Communications Limited has acquired 45,000 square feet of premium building space in the Mumbai suburb of Andheri and has named the facility 'Nimbus Centre.'
A total of Rs 248.1 million is being invested by Nimbus in building the first post modern self-contained infrastructure facility by any media, entertainment and sports company in India.
The Nimbus Centre will have a capacity to house over 250 personnel, several meeting and conference rooms, a learning centre and by March 2004 will contain state-of-the-art production and post production fully digital centres serving Nimbus divisions and subsidiaries (not offered to non Nimbus entities) in television, motion pictures, sports, music and other electronic media.
Says Nimbus CEO Akash Khurana, "We expect significant cost and time savings having all facilities under one roof, and of course look forward to exciting the senses of our people with a creative, relaxed and secure environment."
It will also be the first facility in India that will offer real time conversion of television signals (and other video pictures) for multi format delivery to 3G, GPRS and Internet receiving gadgets.
The facility will also house one production floor with 'live' production suites, two 3G/GRPS/Internet capable suites, two film edit suites, two special effects suites, one dubbing studio and one sound recording studio. Secure high speed leased lines will enable Nimbus to make tapeless/diskless delivery of any video/audio material directly to those broadcasters and clients who desire such delivery.
Also India's first completely secure and fire proof archive for television, movies and music masters, with multiple level security is being built. With this, Nimbus will become the first media, entertainment and sports production company in India that can guarantee its content clients of a completely integrated and secure environment thereby eliminating any possibility of 'leaks' with respect to new content and also totally eliminating any chance of piracy at the content creation and mastering stage, a company release says.
And as if it were not enough, a roof top 'party zone', a fully equipped recreation and fitness center and a 'creative cafe' are also being built in the premises.
