'Kung Fu Hustle', 'Lost' stars triumph at AZN Television's '2006 Asian Excellence Awards

MUMBAI: Asian American network AZN Television recently held its 2006 Asian Excellence Awards show. It will air on the channel on 29 January in the US.
Yunjin Kim and Daniel Dae Kim won honours for their performances in the action adventure show Lost. This deals with the survivors of a plane crash who are stranded on an island. It airs in India on Star Movies. The star of the martial arts comedy film Kung Fu Hustle Stephen Chow won an award.
A highlight of the show was a tribute to the lifetime achievements of the late producer Ismail Merchant. This featured taped presentations from Merchant's long-time partner director James Ivory. They made films like Howards End and Remains Of The Day. Actress Naomi Watts who worked with them on Le Divorce as well as the stars of the last Merchant Ivory collaboration The White Countess Ralph Fiennes and Natasha Richardson paid tribute.
