Hallmark to offer four miniseries at MIPCOM 2003

NEW YORK: In October, Hallmark Entertainment arrives at the television trade fair MIPCOM with four new miniseries being offered for the first time.
The content runs the gamut from the true story of a US president to the legend of King Solomons Mines. Hallmark Entertainment's president of production and distribution Joel Denton has been quoted in an official release saying, "Hallmark Entertainment's cornerstone of success has always be based upon solid epic event fare. We are recognised for our exceptional storytelling, international awarding winning star power, and the ability to deliver appealing product that crosses boundaries and languages to capture the worldwide audience."
Hallmark's four new miniseries that it will showcase at MIPCOM 2003 are:
10.5 - When a series of increasingly powerful earthquakes start hitting America's northwestern coast in this four-hour action-adventure, a seismologist concludes that the temblors are related and will get worse unless they can be stopped. As the situation follows her predictions, the president orders extreme measures be taken, including the use of nuclear weapons to stop the quakes at their source. A small group of volunteers must risk their lives to execute the plan. It stars Kim Delaney, David Cubitt, Kaley Cuoco, Beau Bridges.
First Family: The Reagans - From the bright lights of tinsel town to the Oval Office and the US Presidency this true story follows Ronald Reagan's (Emmy and Golden Globe winner James Brolin) rise to notoriety, celebrity and world power. The four-hour dramatic miniseries chronicles Reagan?s years as a Hollywood movie star, his marriage to his devoted wife Nancy ( played by Emmy and Golden Globe winner Judy Davis), his tumultuous role as a father of two, and the political controversies that plunged him into the darkest chapter of his presidential life.
Frankenstein: Mary Shelly's horror classic comes to life in this four-hour action-adventure miniseries. Frankenstein stars Alec Newman as Victor Frankenstein, Luke Goss as The Creature, newcomer Nicole Lewis as Victor?s love interest Elizabeth, and French film-star Julie Delpy Before Sunrise as Caroline.
King Solomons Mines: In this miniseries renowned safari hunter Allan Quatermain (played by Patrick Swayze of Dirty Dancing fame) is lured back into the unknown recesses of the African jungles. His mission is to find a man who disappeared while searching for the films title. While the destination is supposed to contain legendary riches nobody who has paid it a visit has returned alive.
