ETC networks' channels claim leadership in channel shares

MUMBAI: ETC Networks owned channels etc and etc Punjabi are stepping up efforts to ensure that the two entertainment channels telecast the best of news, views and musical notes from entertainment industry.
To maintain its "exclusivity and freshness", etc has started telecasting special exclusive events every Saturday at 9.00 pm for its loyal viewers. Out of a total eight events continuously, which is the first time for any channel, etc has successfully telecast two on 26 April and 3 May, says a press release.
An etc release claims that etc has largest channel share of 39 per cent (C&S, 4 years plus for 20-26 April 2003) with MTV trailing behind at 16 per cent; Zee Music with 16 per cent; B4U Music with 11 per cent; CMM with 6 per cent and Channel [V] with 12 per cent. It also adds that 16 out of the Top 25 programmes on music channels during the same period belong to etc.
The release also claims that etc also has the largest channel share (according to TAM for time period of 15 minutes plus for a period of four weeks between 30 March to 26 April 2003) in the target group of 15 years plus belonging to SEC ABC. The newsletter states that etc has a channel share of 40 per cent with MTV at 17 per cent; Zee Music with 15 per cent; B4U Music with 11 per cent; CMM with 10 per cent; and Channel [V] with 7 per cent.
The release claims that etc Punjabi has largest channel share of 72 per cent (C&S, 4 years plus for 20-26 April 2003) with Alpha Punjabi with 9 per cent; Balle Balle with 10 per cent; DD Punjabi with 5 per cent; Lashkara with 4 per cent.
The release also claims that etc Punjabi also has the largest channel share (according to TAM for time period of 15 minutes plus) for a period of four weeks between 30 March to 26 April 2003 in the target group of 4 years plus belonging to SEC ABC. The newsletter states that etc Punjabi has a channel share of 67 per cent; Alpha Punjabi with 9 per cent; Balle Balle with 15 per cent; DD Punjabi with 5 per cent; Lashkara with four per cent.
The etc release says that its Bollywood zone programming (shows such as Star Giraftaar and Taaza Maal is distinctive) because it showcases not only the professional development of the artistes but also their expertise in day today life. The channel etc explores all that is there to give an interesting peek into the lifestyles of these stars in making.
Similarly, the Pop Ki Aandhi segment has featured all the musicians - golden voices like Asha Bhosle, Anup Jalota, Jagjit Singh, Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Adnan Sami, Colonial Cousins, Saadhna Sargam, Shubha Mudgal, Sunidhi Chowhan, Sandeep Chowta, Sapna Awasthi and many more who have come and entertained the viewers.
