Big screen 'Friends' on the cards

MUMBAI: With promises of more sex and nudity, a movie on the mega hit American sitcom, Friends is poised for a debut this year. With no television network censors, the movie will have a definite adult slant with the popular character Joey Tribbian played by Matt LeBlanc disrobing first.

According to a report in www.wallstreetcity.com the movie served as a lucrative incentive to the six buddies and convinced them to sign up for the tenth season comprising 18 episodes. The Emmy award winning series which began in 1994 is currently running its ninth season. The report, quoting sources, claims that all cast members will be paid $930,000 per episode for the new season and $9 million each for the film, plus a percentage of the profits.

Though actors Lisa Kudrow, Matt Leblanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer were willing to extend the show's award winning run, Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston (having tasted Hollywood success) had had doubts about the same. But with a offer they couldn't refuse, all have decided to stay aboard for the time being.
With stakes running sky high, only time will tell what will make the six New York buddies sign for an eleventh season. Maybe some pieces of the Empire State Building could be offered next time round.
