Ten Sports acquires telecast rights for US Open

MUMBAI: Ten Sports has acquired the telecast rights for the US Open, adding a further property to its tennis programming. The sports channel already has the rights to the French Open.

Says Taj Television CEO Chris McDonald, “We are delighted with the acquisition of the US Open. Thanks to the terrific performance of Sania Mirza recently, and the presence of Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes in doubles, there is a lot of interest in the game.”

The US Open, the national open tennis championship of the USTA, starts at the hard court surface of Flushing Meadows from 29 August and concludes with the men’s final on 11 September. The French Open will be played at the red clay surface of Roland Garros from 23 May to 5 June.
