Sports TV mag hosts All Star Award at NAB 2004

MUMBAI: Sports TV production magazine and sports summit is holding its second annual All-Star Awards, recognizing individuals for their leadership and excellence in sports television production and technology.

Sponsored by Sony, the event is to be held at Sony theatre booth, #SU11051 Las Vegas convention center, south Hall on Tuesday 20 April at 6:00 pm.

Launched almost one year ago at NAB 2003, Sports TV Production or STP as its readers like to call it, is the only magazine that is 100 percent dedicated to covering professional sports production. It focuses on the technologies and techniques of producing, posting and broadcasting sports programming, with regular coverage of visual effects, audio advancements and the emergence of high definition.

The list of All-Star Award Winners for this year consists of names like Larry Barbatsoulis director of technical operations of CBS, Dennis Baxter senior audio Athens Olympic Broadcasting, Andrea Berry senior vice president field operations Fox Sports, Jed Drake senior vice president and executive producer remote production ESPN, Manolo Romero president and CEO International Sports Broadcasting, Pat Sullivan president Game Creek and Bob Toms Vice President Production ABC Sports.

Other than the Super Bowl, the World Series, the US Open, tennis and golf and some other major events, Sports TV also cover the Daytona 500, the LA Marathon, the Little League World Series and even the Westminster Dog Show which is considered to be a sport.

They also cover regional sports including the Special Olympics and some college and high school level sports.
