Max's passion soared with international cricket rights

MUMBAI: Extra Passion Nite! That is how Set Max christened the party it threw on the night of 4 March for its patrons, partners and well-wishers. The big moment came when Set India CEO Kunal Dasgupta announced the channel bagging the international telecast rights for the upcoming India-Pak series.

"I was on phone. Though we haven't got the India telecast rights, we have won the international rights." Dasgupta's announcement was greeted with loud cheers and followed uncorking of champagne bottles.

The channel rightly dedicated the night to Amitabh Bachchan, calling him "Someone who epitomises passion". Though, was not present in person, the Bachchan persona was oozing out through the audio visual played and the song and dance followed. What stood out in the whole episode was the charming performance given by the boy of attitude, Sameer Khan. It was quite pleasing to see the movie channel relying on its golden boy for entertainment instead of crowding the stage with gals and boys.

Max's cricket ambassadors Kapil Dev and Mandira Bedi made their presence felt. Even some of the Mumbai's hot party animals didn't miss the call of 'passion'. Mandira's hubby director Raj Kaushal, Jackie Shroff, Aftab Shivdasani, Milind Soman, Mini Mathur, Maria Goretti, Rakshanda Khan were among the attendees. The passionate affair went on till the wee hours of morning.
