ABN Amro to organise tennis challenge in India next month

MUMBAI: In an effort to find the next great Indian tennis hope ABN Amro, which organises one of the major tennis tournaments the ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam every year, has announced that it will have a two day tournament in India next month on 10 and 11 December.

The winner gets a wild card entry into the qualifying rounds of the Rotterdam event, which takes place in February 2005.

IMG is managing the logistics of the Indian event. Addressing a media briefing yesterday IMG TWI MD South Asia and IMG senior Intl VP Ravi Krishnan said, " The tournament will feature the top six Indian players including Prakash Amriraj and Harsh Mankad. We are also talking with a sports channel regarding broadcasting the event and will make an announcement shortly."

The tournament will be played at the Cricket Club Of India (CCI) in Mumbai.
