MIPTV/Milia 2006 launches new media content competition

MUMBAI: One of the biggest television trade shows of the year MIPTV featuring Milia 2006, takes place from 3 to 7 April 2006 in Cannes, France.
A new addition to the event will be Content 360. This competition aims to commission innovative interactive content and applications for mobile and broadband.
The contest is organised with the BBC and the Korean Broadcasting Commission (KBC). Entrants will be invited to respond to a series of creative briefs before February 14. Nominees in four categories will pitch their projects to a judging panel of BBC Commissioners on April 5 to 6 in Cannes.
In addition, content developers will be invited to compete for the Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) /MobileTV Content and Applications Award," presented by the Korean Broadcasting Commission. The initiative will also include a dedicated pavilion at MIPTV featuring Milia, conferences and workshops, and an evening showcase of winning projects.
Milia director Ted Baracos says, "By creating Content 360, we want to provide an incubator, essential to the development of truly creative cross-platform talent, while also offering the TV industry the opportunity to discover the latest content innovations evolving from convergence."
