MUMBAI: Tech TV has announced the winners of its annual video game awards. This was done on its show X-Play.
The annual awards show that unveiled the winning titles in 11 categories encompassed the 2003 gaming titles in their entirety. X-Play covers the games, gamers, and gear that are fueling today's video gaming mania.
X-Play's host Andy Sessler said, "It was not an easy decision. As hard as it was, we would love to have the same anguish picking one game out of such an exceptional shortlist year after year." George Lucas' video game spinoff of the latest Star Wars movie was judged Best Game of the year. The game was titled Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. It also won an award for best role playing.
Nintendo's cult favourite The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker won in the adventure section. The trophy for best platformer went to the game Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando. This came from the Sony stable. Insomniac Games created the product. The company's president and CEO Ted Price was quoted in an official release saying," Being a winner of the Best of 2003 is particularly satisfying for us because we poured our hearts and souls into making this game. To see it recognised in this way, especially in light of such tough competition, makes all the late nights in production worthwhile."
