Star appoints sales controller, client services head

Star India

MUMBAI: There are two new faces coming into Star India's executive hierarchy.

Joining India's lead broadcaster when Star India's financial year opens on 1 July is Will Miller from News Corp affiliate BSkyB and Ravi Kumar from Ambience D'Arcy.

Star officials, while not providing any details, did confirm to indiantelevision.com that the two were coming on board.

Will Miller, a 28-year-old executive from BSkyB's London office, who has already made a "reconnaissance trip" to check out the Star India operations, is joining as sales controller. His role will be to manage sales support and inventory management as well as offer strategic inputs rather than direct selling, industry sources say.

Ravi Kumar, who was vice-president heading Ambience D'Arcy's Delhi office, is reportedly joining Star as senior V-P heading client services. Kumar was with Ambience for three years. In this appointment Star will be taking a cue (a rare one that) from Zee Telefilms (which was the first to introduce it) and Sony Entertainment Television India. Zee has Anjana Kshatriya as vice-president client servicing and SET India has Suguna Narayan as all-India head of customer relationship management.
