10 nominations for Nick in daytime Emmies

MUMBAI: Nickelodeon, the children's channel from the MTV network stable, has a reason to celebrate.
The Daytime Emmy Awards 2003 has announced its nomination list for the 29th edition of the annual daytime award, to be held at New York's Radio City Music Hall on Friday, 16 May, and Nickelodeon has bagged 10 nominations in the children's categories.
The award ceremony is organised by the national academy of television arts and science honour the daytime television programs that are broadcast in the United States between the hours of 2 am and 6 pm.
Surprisingly, nine out of 10 nominations bagged by Nickelodeon are the channel's pre-school programmes. The last nomination is the nick toon The Rugrat.
Blue's Clues, Little Bill and Dora The Explorer, trio that has bagged the nominations are part of the Nick junior block on Nickelodeon Asia and can be seen daily.
A show made for preschooler's -Blue's Clues - is nominated in three categories, outstanding animated programme, achievement in music direction and composition and outstanding achievement in sound mixing- live action and animation.
The Bill Cosby production Little Bill has garnered two nominations. Both Gregory Hines aka 'Big Bill' and Ruby Dee alias 'Alice the Great' the lead cast of Little Bill are nominated in the the outstanding performer in an animated programme category.
While the popular toon The Rugrats are nomination in the outstanding children's animated programme category.
