Upbeat etc to celebrate third birthday with three new shows

MUMBAI: Predominantly music channel etc whose motto is Aakhir Dil Hai Hindustani will celebrate its third birthday on 26 August. It has announced a few innovative programmes to commemorate the event

The channel has reason to be upbeat. According to TAM in total markets and age group 4+ (Period 17.7.02 to 20.7.02 and time of 15 minutes +) etc has a channel share of 31 per cent while closest rival MTV is 25 per cent, B4U Music is 17 per cent, Channel [V] is 13 per cent and Zee Music is 5 per cent.

The channel will telecast the 2 hour event Fusion For Peace led by Violinist maestro Dr. L. Subramaniam on 1 September at 7 pm. An official release informs that this will mark the first time that any satellite channel is telecasting a fusion programme.

The event sees musicians from different countries coming together in this event of International Jugalbandi. Seeta Subramaniam, Narayan Subramaniam and Lakshminarayana Subramaniam will render their voice range with Kavita Krishnamurthy Subramaniam and Dr. L. Subramaniam. Bi Lizie Tra with Goui Bi Gohi Johnson from the Ivory Coast of Africa will play Percussion. Karsten Vogal from Denmark plays the saxophone, A. Sivamani Drums, Alex Rostotsky from Russia will play electric Base, Matthias Muller from Germany will be on Guitar, Sanjay Wandrekar and Karsten Vogal will be on Keyboard, Sarosh Izedyar on Guitar, Nagraj on Flute.

2 September will see the launch of new Road Show Bole Hindustaan at 7.30 pm with repeats on Friday at 6 pm. This show will see viewers of etc expressing their views and choices on the channel. On 3 September the channel will tickle the funny bone with the journey of Rajnikant fan Pillai and Sharughan Sinhas follower Pandey at 7.30 pm with repeats on Sunday at 12.30pm. The musical comedy Pandey Pillai Take - 2 creates laughter for the depressed souls and guffaws for others. The reinvention of Pandey and Pillai will telecast every Tuesday at 7.30 pm.

Baaps of Bollywood will start airing on the channel from 5 September at 8.30 pm with repeats every Sunday at 1.30 pm. This is a weekly dedication to the great masters of performance in Indian Cinema. Divided in four parts this dedication will highlight the professional as well as personal growth of one artiste every month. Anchor Suresh Menon will take the viewers down the memory lane in garbs of Bollywood personalities to make this show into an infotainment. The first star to feature in the show is Ashok Kumar.
