MUMBAI: Sportel, the sports television market, will be holding an event next year in Hong Kong that would bring sports content buyers and distributors together.

Sportel Asia 2005 will be held from 14-16 March 2005 at the InterContinental Hotel in Hong Kong. This marks the market organisers first foray into the Asian marketplace.

Noting that the choice of Hong Kong was made after extensive interaction with Sportel clients, Sportel executive VP David Tomatis said, "The majority of the respondents to our survey indicated a clear preference for Hong Kong as the venue of our next spring market.

"Hong Kong has long been one of the worlds premier destinations for both international business and pleasure travel and has lots to offer to our participants. We certainly expect our Hong Kong location to attract many companies from the growing Asian region."

Meanwhile, the Sportel organisation's next event SportelMonaco 2004 will be held from 11-14 October at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.
