MUMBAI: Under the campaign, #Dec18WithArnab, Republic TV had lined up exclusive coverage of the Gujarat & Himachal Pradesh Elections 2017 in the week leading up to the counting day and on counting day on December 18. Across Republic?s platforms there was non-stop programming which brought the most insightful coverage in real time.

Republic TV followed a 4-pronged approach to ensure high quality of reportage. This included ? Real time &Non-stop coverage of counting, including in the early hours when Congress had moved ahead. The channel was live 7AM onwards.

Secondly, Integrated newsroom with live updates on TV & across digital media (website and social media) Multimedia Live-blog which accurately represented the see-sawing drama from the counting, followed by Coverage in both English and Hindi and the last one being interesting patterns and correlations powered by Gramener which helped present the developing news in a comprehensible and meaningful manner.

The channel made high impact with its reportage - It was the first to declare the BJP win in Gujaratand had holistic coverage with screen time devoted to wins and losses of key seats in both states.

The average daily watch time for the entire English news genre on broadcast is at 10.48 million minutes basis Week 49 data and 9.04 million minutes daily for the last 4 weeks average as per BARC in its core TG of 22+ Male AB All India.

Republic TV CEO Vikas Khanchandani said, ?On counting day, we had 7.78 million minutes consumed on Republic World Digital assets and 5.2 million minutes on Hotstar, thereby delivering a massive 12.98 million minutes combined. This is a phenomenal video growth for Republic TV, though in all fairness to broadcast, the consumption for the genre will be very high when the data is released by BARC on December 28, 2017 for Week 51.
